Immigrant and Refugee Health Work Group (IRHWG)

Mission Statement

The Immigrant and Refugee Health Work Group is a community partnership within the St Louis region aimed at improving culturally sensitive health care access.

Goals for 2005

  • Education: Support and assist with the coordination of the New American Conference ( this is now moot since the conference is cancelled); Continue to identify agencies and organizations to which we can present information on CLAS standards.
  • Advocacy: Continue to promote the CLAS standards and work on challenges as they arise.
  • Collaboration: Offer support and possible partnership with the Lead Coalition.
  • Public Policy: Continue to support and work with the Regional Health Coalition
  • Other Health Initiatives: Continue to identify ways to increase openness and a welcoming atmosphere for new Americans at St Louis area health clinics.

All meetings are at 8:30 - 10:00 AM

  • January 26 - 4236 Lindell Blvd (ARCHS offices)
  • February 23 - site to be announced
  • April 27 - site to be announced
  • May 25 - site to be announced
  • Aug 17 - 539 N. Grand Blvd (The Humboldt Building - ARCHS new location)
