About Us

History

Libby Katz and Natalie Frants of the JEVS (now MERS/Goodwill) New Americans program initiated the Consortium of Refugee Service Providers in 1979.  Its original purpose was to network and problem solve with other agencies serving Jewish refugees from the Former Soviet Union. In time, agencies providing services to all refugee and immigrant populations joined the Consortium.

Today's participating organizations include those with a primary mission to serve a wide range of refugee and immigrant groups, as well as "mainstream" organizations with an equal dedication to serving the needs of our newest residents.
